Myriad of Injustices

The number of injustices committed against Maurice were many and shocking, although have proven to be the norm in the criminal legal system. From being represented by an attorney that the courts knew was under investigation and not informing Maurice; to the illegal placement of a special prosecutor, judge, and jury foreperson; to witnesses coerced to lie and who received time off their sentences after the trial. Maurice has studied and written extensively about the causes that lead to wrongful convictions. His study has led him to write several proposed bills, including the bill to improve informant reliance and testimony in Missouri, which similar bills have passed in other states.
