Of Maurice's biggest primary needs are legal counsel and an investigator. He has exhausted his appeals and has been placed on various waiting lists in multiple innocence programs for years. It has been told to him that if a private attorney does not agree to help him, it may take another 5 to 7 years for the innocence program to help him. Read the document attached below for more information.

Maurice has studied and written extensively about the causes that lead to wrongful convictions. His study has led him to write several proposed bills, including the bill to improve informant reliance and testimony in Missouri, which similar bills have passed in other states.
